2026 · Global Competition

Selected by Harvard
as a Top 30 global venture.

Out of hundreds of teams from around the world, VitalSync was named a Top 30 Venture at the Harvard Health System Innovation Lab (HSIL) 2026, and won the Malaysia Hub. We built this to solve a real problem. Harvard agreed it was worth solving.

01 · The Problem

ICU nurses are good.
The alarms aren't.

A threshold monitor fires for every number that crosses a line. VitalSync only speaks when something actually matters, before the chart changes, before the cliff edge.

02 · The Solution

A quiet layer of intelligence
that never tunes out.

VitalSync sits quietly between the bedside monitor and your clinical team. It watches every patient, every second, learning what normal looks like for each individual, and only speaks up when something genuinely warrants attention. No noise. Just signal.

01 / Filter

Stop the noise before it reaches anyone.

Motion artefact. Loose leads. Threshold crossings that don't mean anything for this particular patient. We catch those before they ever fire.

02 / Predict

Catch deterioration hours before it turns critical.

Trained on 200,000 real ICU admissions. The model picks up multi-variate drift that humans miss: sepsis, respiratory decline, cardiac instability.

03 / Deploy

No internet required. No data leaves the ward.

A single $400 mini-PC at the nurse's station runs everything. No cloud dependency. No vendor contract. Just works, even in a basement with no signal.

03 · How it works

Three steps from raw waveform
to actionable alert.

A quiet pipeline running on every bed, every second, from the moment vitals come in to the moment a clinician gets something worth acting on.

Step 01 · Ingest

Vitals stream in, every second.

HR, SpO₂, BP, respiratory rate, temperature and ECG pulled from standard bedside monitors via HL7 or serial. No new hardware needed.

Step 02 · Analyse

AI runs 31 features across trend windows.

Under 200ms per patient. The model runs entirely on local hardware, no outbound calls, no latency from the cloud, no data leaving the building.

Step 03 · Surface

One alert. The one that matters.

Each notification comes with a NEWS2 score, trend context, and a suggested next step. False positives cut by an order of magnitude.

Deterioration · Bed 07
Rising NEWS2 + declining SpO₂ over 40 min. Multi-variate pattern consistent with early sepsis. Consider reassessment.
Confidence 0.91 · NEWS2 → 6 · 03:38
04 · The Interface

Mission control
for the ward.

Every bed. Every alert. Every trend. One screen that actually makes sense at 3am.

06 · Features

Everything the ward needs.
Nothing it doesn't.

Live ECG & vitals dashboard

Every bed, every waveform, one screen. Refreshes at 60 fps with no lag, even on a $400 mini-PC.

ML deterioration prediction

Up to six hours of early warning for sepsis, respiratory and cardiac decline before symptoms become obvious.

AI shift handover summaries

Auto-generated at every shift change: what happened, who to watch, what's next. Saves 20 minutes of scrambling.

Offline-first edge deployment

No cloud, no internet, no data leaving the building. Works in a basement. Works during a blackout. Just works.

NEWS2 clinical scoring

The validated UK standard early-warning score calculated in real time for every patient, not just the ones flagged.

Works on any screen

Wall display, tablet at the bedside, or a phone in your pocket. The same interface adapts to wherever the team is working.

07 · Hospital Partners

Built alongside
Malaysia's best.

We don't build in isolation. Our clinical partners are in the room with us, shaping what VitalSync does, how it thinks, and what it needs to get right.
